This session consisted of different activation and strengthening exercises to improve speed and sprint technique. In professional soccer milliseconds can make all the difference between making a play or missing your mark and losing a battle in the game. Here are a few techniques you can use to help improve your speed.
I started off with some quad, hip flexor, hamstring, hip and core activation.
This was followed by some wall sprint drills focusing on powerful and quick floor contact, knee up and toe up for explosive running form, and core stabilization and balance to increase efficiency when sprinting.
I finished off with 3 sets of 4 max speed 40 yard sprints⚡️⚽️
